Company History

Sports Training Physical Therapy was founded in 1985 by Maureen Broderick Wilhelm, PT as a private practice physical therapy facility. Beginning with its first office in West Orange, NJ, Sports Training Physical Therapy grew from a single clinician to a facility treating more than 400 patients/week. From 1990 to 1997, STPT opened 9 additional clinics throughout New Jersey before being purchased by HealthSouth in July 1997. After the sale, Maureen joined the HealthSouth staff and managed and expanded HealthSouth’s operations from 1997 to 2003 in Morris, Essex, Passaic and Monmouth counties.

In 2004 Maureen returned to the private practice arena and re-opened Sports Training Physical Therapy. Maureen has opened multiple office locations throughout New Jersey which provide the extraordinary quality care and patient focus that Sports Training Physical Therapy was renowned for.
